Worst Travel Agent Ever!

The FC usually gets me to book all his flights, accommodation etc etc etc when he takes his annual 6 week holiday abroad.  However this year, he came up with the idea that he would use this company which could get him cheap flights which had been recommended to him by a “friend” … well actually I think he paid more for everything .. but who am I to say??

Anyway this company and more especially “Mike” have been more than unhelpful and incompetent!

Monday

Try to check-in Mr & Mrs FC onto their flight to Singapore .. using the BA website and the booking reference .. as I always do for any other flight when he/they travel!

Problem number 1 was I could only check-in his wife .. for some reason it was not allowing me to check in the FC .. “never mind” I said .. “it’s business class .. your seats have been pre-assigned .. maybe it’s because it’s long haul and to do with security .. you’ll be sitting in this seat here next to Mrs FC” … surely?

This was not the case and it ended up with Mr FC sitting some way away from Mrs FC (now personally I would think that this was a bit of a bonus!)

Tuesday

I get a phonecall from Singapore … telling me about the seat situation and could I phone A**** Vacations and speak to Mike and find out what the hell happened.  This I duly did .. well Mike in my opinion you are obviously not suited for the job that you do and should possibly return to the country from whence you came!

Firstly I said to him about the pre-assigned seats … “I’ll check” he says .. 5 minutes later .. “yes”.  So I asked him why Mr FC and Mrs FC were sat at opposite ends of the plane .. the booking reference would have all the details of the booking and the seats if they were pre-assigned!  He then snootily said “what were you doing checking them in?”  I told him that this was something I always did with no problem whatsoever .. he then told me I had no business doing that … er why?  I was asked to by the persons travelling .. in fact one of the persons travelling was sat beside me at the time of on-line (or not) check-in.  I was doing nothing illegal.  He then tried to imply that it was us that were wrong and not him .. quite frankly he didn’t have a clue about travel and cared even less.

I had to slam the phone down at that point .. he was sooooo arrogant and I was in danger of being seriously seriously rude.  I frightened a few people in the office too with the ferocity of my anger .. he drove me to it!

I await finding out how the Singapore to Sydney flight went!

So Mike I would like to wish you a very Happy Christmas and hope that your Christmas bonus .. IS THE SACK!

The word is out

that horse has gotta go and several people have shown signs of interest in taking him .. so fingers crossed.  The alternative is not worth thinking about .. although the other night I spent 2 hours going over and over it in my head .. can I keep him? should I keep him? … the answer to one was no you can’t afford it .. the other was yes .. and I kept coming back to the yes .. the reality is however, no, he’s gotta go .. and he’s got a gotta go date too, otherwise another few months will pass of poverty .. do we pay the bills to keep a roof over our head or pay for the horse?
